Hey everyone. As most you of might have guessed, Bella has been having some trouble with the hardwood and tile floors in our house. When she first came to live with us I put carpet runner pads all over the house making little paths for her to go from room to room. If I hadn’t she’d still be laying on her bed in the sunroom. She is petrified to walk on the floors. She did make her way around on the runner pads but even those made her fearful. She has been the most comfortable once she reaches the bedroom where there is carpeting. But she has been hesitant to even step over 6″ of wood floor to get from the bedroom to the carpet runner in the hall. I have felt so badly for her and it has stressed me out a lot. With all that said, I ordered Bella some Skyliner Boots from the tripawds.com site and they arrived this past Saturday. While it took her a while to actually get up the nerve to get up and walk in them, she finally did and I have to say it was pretty funny. She raised her feet in a high prance all around the house and just didn’t know what to do about those pesky things on her feet. Finally she settled down and began to walk normally. She is doing much better on the floors and I realize it will still take her some time to get completely comfortable but she is doing much better. I’m just not sure how long at a time I should keep them on her. I take them off when she goes outside so that she can run free and uninhibited but then I have to put them back on to come inside the house and leave them on so she can move about inside where she wants to go. Even though I think I still like the boots better than she does at least she isn’t trying to remove them and she is walking around in them. I think eventually she will be just fine in them and I can stop worrying about her getting around. Thank you tripawds.com for being a wonderful source for us fretting tripawd pawrents. glad to hear bella is getting used to her boots – we have hardwood and tile…very scary when you hear a ‘thump’, but gayle has gotten used to them. watch out bella, you may get to be a ‘shoe girl’ and start collecting boots in all colors and styles!!!

Hey Gayle & Charon, nice to hear from you again. My wish is that someday Bella will get used to the floors too and not need the boots ’cause I have not had the best of fun with them myself. We’re on a boots on, boots off merry-go-round at present but things will settle down eventually. But if Bella never wants to walk on the floors, well, hey we will just have to off set her wardrobe with various stylish colored of boots. LOL! Thanks for the chat.
